rain!!!

 There was a welcome rain today

    I hope it is not too little, too late.

    I have been watering my flowers, but that isn't the same as nature providing rain.  Plus, I don't always remember to water them.  I need a new system for next year.

    Jackie and I go to church in DeKalb.  When our minister left, we could not get an interim, so we have been using supply priests.

    And the service time was changed to 9:30.  Now, that may not seem like a big issue, but for us it is.

    It takes a while for us to get going.

    For example, there was a special meeting at 10:30 today that we wanted to attend.

    We got up at 7:45 and made the meeting by 10:36.  Going on that example, we would have to get up at 6:45 to get to the 9:30 service.  That ain't gonna happen.

    And I am sure we could find ways to cut some time off our morning prep, but it won't be a lot.

    Friends of ours suggested going to their church in Rochelle instead, which would save an hour of driving time.

    But I looked around at all the familiar faces and the meeting and thought of al the time we have been together and decided changing churches is not the answer.

    That was my day.

    Tomorrow begins the quest to find a route to DeKalb that isn't under construction.
