I took a bath tonight
I have not taken a bath in heavens knows how long. I'm a shower guy.
But I have heard several people talk about soaking in a warm bath with Epsom Salts can help relieve muscle pains.
And boy, do I have muscle pains.
So I filled our bath tub and discovered something.
I don't know how to sit down in a bath tub.
I got in and also discovered the water was a tad hot. I did my best stork imitation while running colder water into the mix.
I finally tried to sit. I had the darndest time getting my body in a sitting position. I ended up going on my knees then turning sideways, stretching out one leg, turning the other direction, stretching out the other leg and plopping down.
I also discovered the water near the spigot was a lot colder than the water away from the spigot. My toes were blue and my legs beet red. I felt like a lobster.
It was a nice soak, but I did have one worry.
How the hell do I get out?
(Note to Julia. I know you have an extra deep tub in your house. Consider putting grab bars on the front or back so people have something to grab onto. Maybe one along the back also.)
If I can't get out, who do I call? Ghostbusters?
I had to act like a contortionist to get out, but I did manage to escape.
My long soak lasted about 20 minutes, about half the time I had hoped. Maybe I'll try it again, if I can figure an easy way to get down.
I ran into a friend who is a pastor today. I said to them, "Shouldn't you be working?"
As I was sipping my ice tea and munching warm chocolate chip cookies on the patio at Acres Bistro, I realized my comment made no sense.
As I was leaving I stopped and apologized for saying something totally inane,They laughed , and I just hope they don't think I am a total idiot.
But, maybe I am. I mean, I can't figure out how to sit in a tub!
Peace and Love
