 Sometimes I do stupid things

Our relative was here and I baked some frozen cinnamon rolls.

I had to laugh because the instructions included "please use protective pads while removing hot tray from oven."  I laughed, thinking someone took a tray of cinnamon rolls out of a 375 degree oven using their bare hands.

    But I digress.

The rolls were out, a delicious cream cheese frosting applied, and I made tea for the three of us.

In the morning I make the tea, get Jackie her breakfast, go into the den and read the Trib on line.

Usually when I pick up my tea is is warm, because it has been several minutes since I poured it.

Today I poured the hot water into the cup, passed out the rolls, sat down and took a sip of tea.

DAMN THAT TEA WAS FREAKIN HOT!!!

I tried spitting it back into my cup, which was quite rude at the table.

My to sue and the roof of my mouth hurt and I know the top of my mouth blistered, because I could feel  skin with the tip of my tongue.

10 hours later and it still hurts.

After Charlotte left, Jackie and I planned to wrap presents.

So at about 12:30 I got out tape, scissors, wrapping paper and a present.

At 2:30 we had the present wrapped.

What happened?  I had to let the dogs out at Emily's.  Julia was gone and had a delivery scheduled for her house sometime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. but they contacted her and said it would be about 130.

    I left for Julia's at 1:15.

The delivery guys showed up about 2 ish.  Problem was, they backed down the wrong driveway!  I was in the garage waiting for them when I heard a truck.  I did not see a truck, but I could hear the ding ding trucks make backing up.

I looked out and saw them carefully backing down the neighbor's driveway.  I open the garage door and yelled, but their windows were closed.  So I climbed over some downed trees and headed to the truck, wondering all the while why in hell didn't I tie my shoes.

When they got out of the truck I yelled, "Is that for Dickow?"  He said "Yes, we'll be right there." and the got back into the truck and came to Julia's.

I got home, we wrapped a present, then we wrapped several more.  One box was big and Julia had just come home so I asked her to help me wrap her present.

I did not get a nap, or a coffee, or a chance to read.  I did do a load of towels and a load of sheets.

And somehow I am not tired.

    Go figure.

Peace and Love
