still time

I hope to do some yard work tomorrow

    Yes, yard work.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy with a high of 41.

What do I have to do?

Some trimming of bushes and a couple of trees.

I read an article that the best time to trim trees is winter, when they are dormant.  Without leaves you can see the trees structure better, making it easier to trim.  Plus since they are dormant they are less stressed than a trim during the growing season.

All I know is when I mow I get whipped in the face by a couple of branches.  So I am going to carefully lop them off the trees that bother me.

I also have a lilac bush that is way out of control.  I know, the vest time t trim a lilac is after it blooms.  I am also aware that I will not get blooms on newly cut branches, so my lilac will not have that amazing smell next spring.

But it is way too big.

I don't think I have ever done yard work on a Dec. 30 in my life.  Strange times.

I didn't do a darn this today.  I watched part of 2 football games, but they did not interest me.

We had some visitors for a while, and it was great to talk with them and their out of state son, even if it was only for a short time.  Julia took them out to see her house, which is coming along.

We had our third, and final, Christmas meal.  Leftovers are mostly finished or frozen.  Much to our relief.

It was kind of a kick back day.  No laundry, no dinner dishes, no chores.  I liked it.

I just hope I con't cut any fingers off tomorrow.

Peace and Love
