We had a lot of recycling today
`I recycle almost anything. Plastic. Paper. Glass. Cans. Aluminum. Cardboard. Plastic bags.
The bags go to a store, and the aluminum goes to a school, but everything else goes in the recycling bins.
I turned off the alarm this morning. I got up late and was afraid I missed this week's pickup. But I dragged out the 2 bins and a huge carton of cardboard anyway.
We had a doctor's appointment in DeKalb at 1 so we had to leave at about 12. Recycling guy usually comes a little before 10, which was about the time I dragged the stuff out.
Luckily, he was late and all my recyclables that could be taken were picked up.
I always wonder if they do recycle the stuff. I hear people say they don't, it just goes to a landfill and gets dumped. I asked the people at the disposal service and they assured me it does go to a recycling facility. I guess I believe them.
I could take it out the night before, but if it gets windy my stuff could just blow around, like it has before. So I wait. And wait. And wait.
I guess I need to get up earlier on recycling day!
Of course we never just do 1 thing in DeKalb.. I stopped at the vet for a couple of things, went to a grocery store, dropped some tattered sheets off at Tails for use in their birthing rooms, and got a coffee. All this after Jackie's appointment.
Our tree is up and fluffed. Lights are on and tomorrow we should be able to put ornaments on the tree.
I had to go buy lights for the bushes outside. I was a bit surprised when I opened a light box I thought was for the tree only got find several rolls of outdoor lights..... probably enough to do most of the bushes. Maybe I should label things.
I may be ahead of the game though. If the tariffs go through, those $3 lights will cost $6 next year. I just could be ahead of the game.
That would be a first.
Peace and Love
