I was responsible for Illinois losing today
I watched my first complete college basketball game this year. I had hoped Illinois would win, but I am convinced they lost because I watched.
I thought at one point I heard the announcers say Kentucky had a whole new starting line up from last year, made up of transfers from other schools.
I guess the portal in basketball has made for freer movements for college athletes. I am not sure I like that. I like the old days, where a student accepted a scholarship and it was harder to move from school to school. I remember when Kenny Battle moved from NIU to the U of I and how big an uproar that caused. Times have changed.
Illinois has a freshman guard with a long name I can't spell or pronounce who is supposed to be really good. So good, he will probably declare for the NBA draft. I did not see that today. I think his draft stock may have dropped.
Enough.
The wind is picking up again, I can hear it very clearly without my hearing aids.
Jackie was having trouble with her soap today. She could not pump it. She gave it to me and I promptly pumped it, squirting a whole mess of the stuff on to her. At least it works.
We moved some of Julia's stuff to a gathering point today. My basement does not look so bad after all. The movers will come Wednesday to take it to her house.
Did you know that fortune cookies are not a part of the Chinese culture? They are only given out in the US, not China.
