pins and needles

Like many of you, I am on pins and needles 

    I have had trouble sleeping the past 2 nights, and I think tonight will be worse.

    Often times when there is a presidential election I have the feeling that if my candidate lost, it would not be so bad.  Usually the opposition has some downsides, but nothing that can't be worked around.

    Not so this time.

    I dread a Republican presidency.

    We had a lot of rain. today, which means tomorrow I can try to put my tree fertilizing stakes in the ground.  The weather is a little cooler, so maybe I will pick up the rest of the yard decorations too.

    The wind was pretty strong today.  I did not put recycles out.  Instead, I waited until I saw the truck then dragged out my 2 buckets.  I timed it just right.  The guy had just emptied the first one when I got there with the second one.

    Of course, all the cardboard is still in the garage, but at least the plastic and most of the paper is gone.

    I did get up early to get the garbage can so it did not blow, but Julia had already brought it in.  Otherwise I might have had to chase it down the street.

    That's about it for me tonight.......hoping for good news in the morning.
