I had a couple of close calls today
We have lived here for over 50 years. I know most of the streets by heart, having driven them so many times.
I recognize houses and where they are located.
Jackie and I were driving back from the hairdressers. We had gone to the south side to see the new apartment buildings being built for low to moderate income families.
I was merrily driving west when I passed the old House of Photography building. It was then I realized I had blown a stop sign. Did not even slow down.
Not only that, it was one of the busier streets that I few across.
Luckily, there was not a car in sight! If a car had been coming, we would have been t-boned.
When we came out of the hair dressers, I got Jackie in the car and loaded the wheelchair in the back end of the van.
As I picked it up, my foot tripped on something and me and the wheelchair just sort of flopped into the van.
My elbows and knees hurt, so does my back. I landed on top of the chair and was lucky not to hit my head or face on the frame.
I had a chiropractor appointment at 2. I remembered that at 3. I stopped in, and he said my back was a little out of alignment. I told him about the tumble with the wheelchair.
We had our last rehearsal tonight and it went well. Yes, we did get a little carried away and went off script. A lot. But I think that just means we are all comfortable with our roles and characters.
Two more nights.....but it is a busy weekend ahead!
Peace and Love
