We had our third , and biggest, show today
I think the final count was 78 people, which for a Sunday matinee is pretty darn good. We had mid 40s on Saturday and mid 30s on Friday, if I remember correctly.
The audience was responsive in a quiet way, but they played along quite nicely with us.
2 more shows next Friday and Saturday, then my character Earl goes into hibernation.
One huge advantage to doing a show today was not being able to watch the Bears play. Good grief, they are terrible.
It usually takes them a full season to turn a great quarterback into a head case, but this team seems to have done it in only 9 games.
I still have faith. In fact, I am willing to bet the Bears beat the Packers next weekend. I'll take the Bears and 60 points against the Packers. Any takers? Hmm.... I wonder if 60 is enough. Maybe 70.
I read an article on Asian beetles today and it clarified my thinking. I thought they were introduced here to battle aphids on soybeans, but I was wrong. They were introduced in 1916 to eat aphids on pecans.
Since then they have multiplied and spread.
They start seeking warm places to overwinter after the first cold snap. The little suckers will find their way into houses and buildings through the smallest crack. Julia had several in her house, which makes sense because she did not have doors at the time. Now she does.
The best way to get rid of them is to vacuum them up and then get rid of the bag. Don't let it sit in the house because they will crawl out.
They look like ladybugs, but they are certainly no ladies. They bite and stink when you kill them. I speak from experience.
Another example of solving one problem while creating another. Take note.
Peace and Love
