I got duped by fake news
I always say verify before sharing something on social media. And yet, I shared information that the Hollywood sign in California had been burned in the fire.
I saw it in a video in the Reels section. But now that the geniuses in charge of FB don't fact check, the video was AI generated and not real. But, I accepted it as real. Friend Pam pointed out my goof.
The video also showed a 32 million dollar nome at the bottom of the hill where the sign was as being destroyed. I can not find information on that.
But I did read in 3 places that the house used in the tv series Succession was destroyed. It was valued at ...... hold on to your hats......$125 million. And no, there is no decimal point in that number.
On the lighter side of life... oh, hell.
Today is Saturday. I went with Julia to Naperville to return some excess tile she bought for her house. We weren't sure how helpful the people would be for returns, so I went with as the muscle. (OK, you can stop laughing now. Seriously, stop.)
The people were very good about the return. They unloaded the car and I did not have to do anything except look smart and important. (Again, stop. I said look, not I was.)
I bought a shirt for Jackie for Christmas. Not going to mention the name of the well known company, but the shirt did not fit. Now, she has about 8 shirts from the same name brand retailer, all the same size, and they all fit nicely.
This one didn't.
Luckily the retailer was also in Naperville. So in order to avoid shipping the item back, I took it to the store after we returned the tile.
The manager heard the problem and said something to the effect that I was not the first one to return this particular shirt. She also said it was a new design and when she first touched it, it felt different than other shirts the company sells.
Meanwhile, Julia is circling the parking lot because there are no empty spaces.
Before I went into the store, I ordered a coffee on line because the coffee place was next to the clothing place. 2 birds, 1 stone. Returned the shirt, walked next door and picked up my coffee, and got back in the circling car in the parking lot. Easy Peasy.
Tomorrow I have a little packing to do. Seems Key West is on the horizon.
Peace and Love
