Stuffed

We went out for dinner tonight

The Swiss folks wanted to try prime rib, so Julia made reservations at Sorento's in Sycamore.  Since it was Camryn's birthday, she also joined us.

The prime rib was huge and delicious.  I think everyone was impressed.

Jackie, Emily, and Camryn opted for pasta dishes,  and those were huge.

This was the last time we will be together other than a quick goodbye on their way to the airport Sunday.

    I really will miss them.

Julia was in Switzerland for over 20 years and made some fantastic friends. who have become our friends as well.

Hearing in a crowd is difficult for me.  One thing I did hear at dinner was how impressed Mike was with the United States.  The space, variety of land forms, the food, the people..... all registered as  favorable from him.

It was a good reminder to me about the great country we do have.  Yes, we have problems.  But the freedoms we enjoy, the land we can enjoy, the people themselves, are sometimes blotted out by the noisy hatred from a few people.

Anyway, I am grateful for Mike. Matt. and Nom.  They are good friends for Julia, great people for Jackie and me to know, and we will be sad when they leave.

I think Julia gave them a good introduction toe the Midwest.  This weekend they are heading to Cranfest.  That should be an interesting experience for them.

I wonder what they will think of us after that.

If you don't know, Google Cranfest in Warrens WI.

And it is funny.....when I type Cranfest spell check has turned it into Crankiest twice.

    Damn that AI

Peace and Love
