Play ball

I love and hate spring training games

    I'll start with the negative.

Teams don't always play their regulars.  Sure, they may play an inning or three, get a couple of at bats. but usually the game is filled with people I've never heard of.

    Now for the positive.

The games usually have people I've never heard of.

Strange, right?  But a lot of these guys may eventually be on the major league club.  Pete Crow Armstrong was one of those "who is he" guys a couple of years ago.  To be honest, I thought he was going to be a star the moment the Cubs announced they had acquired him in a trade. I mean, c'mon!  He has 3 names!  He can't miss.

I do think he is the most exciting player the Cubs have right now.  It's too bad Christopher Morell could not play third base better than he did, because he was another exciting player.

    Another positive?

Warm weather is not too far away.  Baseball is back!  It's a summer sport!

    Another positive?

Maybe it will block some of the noise from Washington.  I think we all need a break from the goings on in our capital.  At the same time, we can't ignore it.

One final positive.......this is the Cubs year!!!!  They have an improved line up, better relief pitching, some youthful enthusiasm...... gonna be a good year!

Hey, hey holy mackerel, no doubt about it.  The Cubs are on their way. Hey Hey!!

I just hope I have the same positive outlook in July.

Peace and Love
