Sometimes I am irrational
I know that is no surprise to most of you.
Usually it is odd that I am rational!
Jackie ordered some tops. They came in. the mal and did not fit.
We can return them, but I know it will cost a few dollars to do that.
There are free returns at the store. There is a store in the St.Charles/Geneva area.
She had a doc appointment in Sycamore, followed by pedicures in Sycamore and I figured the store would only be about a 20 mile drive and we could just go there and return them.
That's the irrational part of me.
I got to thinking: We get 20 mpg on the van. It will take 2 gallons of gas for us to get there and back. Gas is about $3 a gallon here, sosit would cost us $6 or so.
And the time would be maybe an extra hour to our errand running.
The rational me said, "Let's just mail the tops back."
It may cost a few bucks more, but it may also balance out.
Plus, Emil or Julia may be headed in that direction in. the next week or two and they can return them without going out of their way. I hope.
So there.
Rational.
But, here us something irrational.
When we are in DeKalb/Sycamore I often stop at the Starbucks by Target.
I did so today.
I went in and placed my order: half caf vanilla blond iced latte.
As soon as I said its, the pretty young thing looked at me and said, "Are you Terry?"
I had NOT scanned my card. If I had been quick thinking I would have asked how she knew, but I didn't.
So...did she know me? If so, how? Do I order that drink enough that by ordering it, they know who I am?
Is there a facial recognition ap on the register?
Inquiring minds want to know, but evidently not enough to ask.
Peace and Love
