PUP Day

Monday is PUP Day for me

No, I am not celebrating our dog Beth.  But I am Picking Up Poop so I can toss it in the garbage for pick up tomorrow.

This is not my most favorite job. But there are several others I do that are worse, so on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 the best, I would give it a 2.

I wear yard shoes.  These are shoes I wear ONLY in the yard,  because sometimes the hidden treasures are just that....hidden.

But tonight I only walked the front yard.  I was going to go out back, but I was so damn cold I left the back for another day.

What I don't understand is how this little dog leaves so many piles!  Holy crap!!  (No pun intended.)

    But enough about shit.

    Well, not quite.

When we first had a house on Southview Drive in the early 70s, we had a dog.  I had planted several pine trees along the back of the yard, thinking someday they would form a nice border.

In order to speed the growth process, I would gather the dog's do and spread it around the trees.

After all the trees died, I discovered raw poo on a little tree is not a good idea.

Knowledge gained, but a little too late for the trees.

I will be planting some little trees again this year, but I will not use the poo as fertilizer.

And while it was cold for picking up stuff, imagine the Cubs playing in weather in the 30s!  Now that is cold!

Peace and Love
